The Tuc El Nuit Preschool offers a stimulating and enriching early childhood program for children aged 3 to 5 years that provides a variety of activities to support their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
Tuc El Nuit Preschool believes each child is a unique individual who will develop to his/her potential. We believe the developmental childhood years are extremely important to increase social and emotional skills in play based programs to prepare children for the future.
The preschool recognizes parents/guardians as partners in our committment to providing quality service. We involve parents/guardians in all decisions affecting their child, including intake and basic assessments, parent support meetings, program newsletters, parent information bulletin board and daily communication opportunities. Parents/guardians are encouraged to participate in or observe day care activities and arrange a parent meeting to discuss their child's progress, as necessary.
To provide a variety of enriched early learning activities including opportunities to develop and enhance the skills required for healthy child development such as large and small motor skills, cognition, and social skills.
To promote individuality, positive self-concept and respect for other people and their uniqueness
To provide a quality, early child care environment that is positive, nurturing and supportive
To provide a quality program based on professional early childhood standards and to support staff in their ongoing professional development
To promote healthy lifestyles for children and their families by providing snacks that meet Canada's Food Guidelines, and by teaching self-care skills that promote proper personal care and hygiene
To support and build strong, healthy families
To work in partnership with other agencies and community professionals on behalf of the children we serve
The preschool believes in providing service in which all children are welcomed, supported, and valued. This means that the activities of playing, learning and growing happen in a way in which all children feel they belong. All children have different abilities and aptitudes; an inclusive setting accommodates and builds on those. The preschool follows the principles of a family-centred approach, shared responsibility and individual planning for children
Your Child's Safety
Learning, exploring and developing new skills always involves some challenge and often some risk. We take responsibility to ensure we provide the safest environment possible which involves:
active and positive supervision
safe space arrangement of furniture, equipment and activities
developmentally appropriate programming and activities
preventative policies and procedures
I just want to tell you what a fantastic job the staff are doing at Tuc El Nuit Childcare Centre. My son has attended the preschool program for two years.
He also attended the 3-5 daycare this past summer. My son started off as a very shy boy. With the staff's help, he has really blossomed.
My daughter has attended the daycare and has a form of dwarfism.
I am in constant worry about my daughter's safety normally, but when I drop her off for the day, I feel as comfortable as I do when she is with me.
I always talk about this awesome program to people and I think it is a fantastic part of our community.
